Full Description
The Space Shuttle orbiter Atlantis touches down on Runway 15 of the Kennedy
Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) at the conclusion of the nearly
11-day STS-86 mission. Main gear touchdown was at 5:55:09 p.m. EDT, October 6,
1997, with an unofficial mission-elapsed time of 10 days, 19 hours, 20 minutes
and 50 seconds.
The first two Kennedy Space Center landing opportunities on Sunday were waved
off because of weather concerns.
