Development of the Soviet N1 Rocket
Full Description
On the left is the early test variant of the Soviet N1 rocket as
originally conceived in the mid-1960s. On the right is a
slightly modified version designed in the early 1970s. The main
external differences were in the fairing at the bottom of the
first stage and the length of the vertical conduits on the first
and second stages.
